((((Update))))
Alright, it has been about a month since my last post. I have been really busy getting my life straightened out to get where I want. I have done two things recently.
I used to work for Geek Squad doing on-site computer repair for the past two years. I quit school in order to persue my computer geekyness and see where Geek Squad could take me.

After working for about two years things got to be the same; day in and day out. A big lightbulb in my head turned on and said “Ray you can do way better for yourself!” Lately I have become really motivated to start moving on with my life to do better for myself.
My next step was enrolling back into school to finish up to know more about myself and the world. I set to re-enroll about two weeks ago at SJSU, but they nolonger accept applications for the Fall. My next step was going to San Jose City College to finish up my General Education classes and transfer to SJSU or any other University.
While working at Geek Squad I would dedicate hours to KSJS to have and keep my on air show time. This time around my show time has changed to: Sunday’s 10am-2pm. The show is still called Soular Powered (until I think of another name) and its on every week until the next schedule change in the Spring. When you get a chance to tune in to 90.5FM in the South Bay. I will be posting whole 4 hour recordings of my show after my show ends as well as the playlists.
My show’s have mostly been about music and I don’t really talk much about any current events in hip hop or anything going on in my life. My goal for the show this semester would be to incorporate new ways of thinking about hip hop and get interviews with more artists about their views on hip hop and their community. I have been listening to other shows and Dj Ekatusay & Maury have a pretty good flow with music and hip hop events/news.
From listening to other radio show formats around the bay, I figured I don’t want to be like them. They like to talk about common news that people have heard from TV, News radio, or Celebrity news. The way Mainstream Radio sounds seems like they are all about putting other people down or keeping a status quo of what is cool and what is not; without researching or knowing the history of the subjects.
I would like to have my show be all about learning, researching, and finding out answers to things in hip hop and our local communities. If I don’t know something about any subjects I would have to say I don’t know and find out more information, instead of putting it down or making false assumptions about the topic. Anyone could mouth off about any topic and pretend they know things about it. By doing that you keep the status quo. You never move things along or enlighten people to know more about what it is you are talking about. My slogan would be: KSJS, not your status quo.
