RaYz Blizzog

This is my 1st official beat making video for the world. I was inspired to make a simple beat and I recorded the process in which I make a beat. I mentioned in a earlier blog post about aspiring to be a great producer and I took my own advice in the section of emulating a style of music I like. I was feeling a 2001 Dr. Dre west coast feel when I was playing this beat. I felt that if I recreated something like the Chronic 2001, I would be able to appreciate the music and its respective layers. I created this beat about 2 months ago. It was a Wednesday morning, I didn’t have work, and I had just figured out how to play Clyde Carson’s - 2 Step (Produced by Dr. Dre Neff-U *Thanks to Dj Luicidal for the correction) on my piano. After tapping keys for about 1 hour, I figured, how cool would it be if I played the keys in a chord and see where I would get. I got a cool 4 bar piano loop, then kept building with violins, bass, then the drums. The very last thing to make this beat thugish was the cold church bells. After that, it was on!

I recorded all the loops to Pro Tools, and worked my magic mixing and doing the finishing composing.

This guy brought his entourage of homies and they layed down a few lines on the track. Then I gave the beat to my boy RS, and he fuxed wid the drumz to make it sound even more gangster! Well, its enough of me talking and here is the beat for download:
